Measles Confirmed in Adult Who Visited DC, Northern Virginia

WASHINGTON (AP) - Health officials in Washington and Fairfax County, Virginia, say a case of measles has been confirmed in an adult who traveled internationally and recently visited several places in the two areas.

    

The Fairfax County Health Department said in a news release Tuesday that public health workers in the District and the county are trying to notify those who were in direct contact with the person.

    

The patient was discharged from Inova Fairfax Medical Campus in Falls Church, Virginia, and is no longer contagious, according to officials.

    

The patient was contagious May 10 and May 16.
