REHOBOTH, Del. -- Help is wanted in Delaware where thousands of employers gearing up for summer are looking to hire.

As vacationers flock to the beaches, so too are high school and college graduates for jobs.

Recent high school graduate Victoria Edwards is one of them.

"My other friends had said that they had applied to about 30 jobs and had only heard back from two last year, whereas this year I applied to two and heard back from both," said Edwards as she described her summer job search.

Edwards' success might be due to Delaware's unemployment rate falling for the ninth consecutive month in April, according to the state's Department of Labor.

Last month close to 21,000 Delawareans were looking for jobs, a significant turnaround from last year.

New Castle County saw a slight increase in job growth while Kent County's job growth remained the same at five percent.

Sussex County saw the steepest decline in unemployment since March, dropping down to 4.8 percent.

French national and owner of Kaisy's Delights in Rehoboth, Theirry Langer is just one employer hiring left and right.

"We have people who just got a difficult winter and say, 'Oh the season's coming, I have to find a job,'" said Langer. "Then we have all the college students. We have all the college students that say, 'yes I want to come, I want to have some experience,' and this is just perfect for us."

It's perfect for Victoria Edwards as well who just started working for the French cafe and bakery. Edwards' goal is to study international affairs and says working at the cafe gives her the experience she'll need for later.

"Because Kaisy's does sell an international food and I'm working with international coworkers both from France and from Ukraine I get a lot of great experience to mix with what I'm going to eventually be learning," said Edwards.

Confusing Street Signs Come to Dewey Beach

New street signs are popping up in Dewey Beach, and some aren't happy about it.

These new directional signs, Delaware's Department of Transportation says, were implemented to prevent crashes along Route 1.

But some say it's done the opposite of helping and has created more confusion.
