EASTON, Md.- A woman was charged with theft Tuesday after police say she shoplifted several items of clothing from the Kohl's department store in Easton.

According to Easton police, 36-year-old Tracy Dey Burch, of Grasonville,Burch walked into the Kohl's store on May 16 and proceeded to the men's department. Burch then concealed several items of clothing in her purse, police said.

Police said a surveillance camera captured Burch in the act and the store's loss prevention officer watched Burch shoving items of clothing into her purse.

Authorities said the video showed Burch walking out of the store with the items still hidden in her purse.

An officer escorted Burch back into the store where the stolen items were identified. Burch was released from the scene after all the items were accounted for.

The store applied for charges that day and a summons was issued. Burch was charged with one count of theft less than $1,000 and released upon her signature.
