Fire Damages Cambridge Home

CAMBRIDGE, Md.- Authorities are investigating a Monday afternoon fire that caused thousands of dollars in damage to a home in Cambridge.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said the blaze occurred shortly after 4 p.m. at 201 Ramber Road and was reported by a passerby. It took 15 firefighters from the Rescue and Trappe volunteer fire companies approximately 20 minutes to get the fire under control.

The one-story home sustained an estimated $15,000 in damage to the structure, with another $10,000 in damage to its contents.

Investigators determined the fire started in a rear bedroom but they are still searching for the cause.
