Mom of Teen Who Worked for ex-Virginia Lawmaker Acquitted

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The mother of the young woman at the center of a former Virginia lawmaker's sex scandal has been acquitted of charges that she schemed to submit false court documents.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports Henrico County Judge Alfred Swersky found Deidre Warren not guilty Thursday. Warren had been charged with perjury, forgery and uttering.

Swersky had previously dismissed similar charges against former Del. Joe Morrissey.

Warren's daughter, Myrna Pride, worked for Morrissey and earlier this year had a baby that the ex-lawmaker recently acknowledged is his son.

Morrissey faced felony charges after being accused of having an improper sexual relationship with Pride when she was 17. He entered into a plea deal and was sentenced to six months in jail for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
