EASTON, Md. (AP/WBOC)- Easton police say a carnival worker who was in control of a ride intended for children has been arrested on multiple drug charges.

Police said 21-year-old John C. Decker of Brooklyn Park, Md., was smoking marijuana in a portable restroom while on break at the carnival grounds off of Marlboro Avenue on Thursday. Detecting the odor, authorities said they searched Decker and found him to be in possession of a rolled up $5 bill containing a white powdery substance identified as Oxycodone.

Decker has been charged with possession of controlled dangerous substances, possession of paraphernalia and reckless endangerment. Police said he was also issued a civil citation for possession of marijuana under 10 grams.

According to court records, Decker has been released on a $3,500 bond. It was not immediately clear if he has hired an attorney.
