Philly Man Arrested for Robbing Seaford KFC

SEAFORD, Del.- Seaford police say they have arrested a Philadelphia man for holding up the KFC on Sussex Highway on Monday night.

According to police, officers were called to respond to an armed robbery at the restaurant shortly after 8 p.m. Upon arrival, officers met with employees of the KFC who told police that a man came into the business with a handgun and demanded money.

Police said after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the business.

Seaford police said officers responded to the scene and were able to review surveillance video of nearby businesses. Police said they eventually located the suspect entering the Days Inn, also located on Sussex Highway. Police said officers were able to eventually take 44-year-old Alan Dorman, of Philadelphia into custody. Police say they searched Dorman and found 2.7 grams of crack cocaine and 1.7 grams of marijuana. Police said they were also able to locate clothing worn by Dorman during the robbery.

Dorman was charged with possession of firearm during commission of felony, aggravated menacing, tampering with physical evidence, possession of control substance (crack cocaine), possession of marijuana, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and armed robbery, according to police.

Dorman was video arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court #3 and was committed to the Department of Corrections in lieu of $75,000 cash bond pending a court appearance at a later date.

Seaford police were assisted by Delaware State Police Troop #5 during this investigation.
