Search for Shooter in Dover Attempted Robbery

DOVER, Del.- The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened during an attempted robbery Saturday.

Police said the attempted robbery took place at 2:10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8 in the Persimmon Tree Apartments. According to police, an unknown suspect attempted to rob a 35-year-old man in one of the building’s common areas. Police said the victim fought the robber, but was shot once in the right hip. The victim was taken to Bayhealth Kent General for his injuries, according to police.

Police said the suspect fled from the scene. He is described as a light-skinned black male, clean-shaven, about 5’10” and between 170 and 190 pounds.
