Posted:

DOVER, Del.- Dover police say one person was injured after a pair of shootings that occurred within minutes of each other Monday afternoon.

Police said that just after 3 p.m., officers responded to multiple calls of shots fired in the Manchester Square and Dover Park areas of the city. Police said that in the first incident, police said a maroon/dark red Chevrolet Equinox was traveling through Manchester Square/Stevenson Drive and multiple shots were fired from that vehicle. Officers on scene said they discovered several .22-caliber rounds in the area where the shots were fired.

Police said that approximately one or two minutes after the first incident, officers responded to Dover Park, just east of Manchester Square for reports of shots fired there.  It was reported that a single male suspect shot approximately six rounds. Police said that at this scene, several .45-caliber shell casings were discovered.  Approximately three hours after the second incident, an 18-year-old victim responded to Bayhealth Kent General for treatment of a non-puncture gunshot wound to his foot, investigators said.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302) 736-7111. Callers may remain anonymous.
