Easton Man Arrested on Drug, Weapon Charges


EASTON, Md.- Police said an Easton man was taken into custody after he was arrested on drug and weapon charges.

The Talbot County Sheriff's Office said on August 1, deputies responded to Kingston Landing to track down a suspect from an earlier investigation. Deputies learned 19-year-old Nicholas Alexander Goldstein was at the landing in a white Toyota Camry.

The sheriff's office said as a deputy approached Goldstein, the 19-year-old exited his vehicle and walked towards the deputy. The deputy reported seeing drug paraphernalia on Goldstein. Deputies said when a second deputy arrived at the scene, Goldstein attempted to run away, but was quickly caught and handcuffed.

Deputies said they searched his vehicle and found marijuana, Xanax, a handgun and drug paraphernalia. They also found an X-box gaming system that had been stolen in Oxford, Md.

The sheriff's office said Goldstein was charged with handgun in a vehicle, possession of a handgun by a minor, possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and controlled dangerous substance distribution while in possession of a handgun.

Deputies said Goldstein was ordered to be held on a $50,000 bond.
