HARRINGTON, Del. (AP/WBOC) - A Delaware teenager accused of killing his father with a crossbow is scheduled to go to trial in 2016.

The Delaware Department of Justice says Seth H. Ramsey is scheduled to be tried in September.

Delaware State Police said troopers initially went to the family's home at 4822 Park Brown Road in Harrington around 9:45 a.m. on Dec. 11, 2014, to check on Seth's father, 41-year-old Todd Ramsey, who didn't show up for work. Todd's co-workers has called police because they were concerned. Troopers found Todd dead in a bedroom. State police said the cause of death was a single arrow wound to the abdomen.

Court records show Seth, who was 17 at the time of the incident, told police he killed his father because he had skipped school and feared his dad would be angry.

Seth Ramsey is charged as an adult with first-degree murder.
