Posted: Updated:

EASTON, Md.- Easton police say a bicyclist was injured after he was hit by a car Monday night.

Police said 18-year-old Marquan Brummell, of Easton, was riding west on Chapel Road and attempted to cross Route 50 against a solid red light. Police said that as Brummell approached the eastbound slow lane, he was hit by a 2005 GMC Envoy, driven by 28-year-old Jennifer Fohner, of Berlin, Md., who had a green light.

Police said that while Fohner was not injured, Brummell suffered cuts to his head and arm. Brummell was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore for treatment and evaluation. Police said Tuesday afternoon that Brummell was expected to be released from the hospital within the next day.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, according to police. There is no word yet if charges are pending in this case.
