Easton Woman Faces Drug Charges after Collision

EASTON, Md.- Police said an Easton woman faces drug and traffic charges after a collision Thursday.

Easton police said they responded to the area of Washington Street and Glebe Road Thursday after a motor vehicle collision was reported.

According to police, a 1998 Nissan Sentra, driven by 57-year-old Laura Lynn Dean, of Easton, had failed to yield to a 2010 Honda CRV, driven by 33-year-old Marharyta Reyes, also of Easton.

Police said an officer speaking to Dean noticed the 57-year-old appeared to be under the influence of some type of substance. Police said Dean was asked to submit field sobriety tests, and failed those tests.

As a result, police said Dean was charged with Driving a Vehicle while Impaired by Drugs and Failure to Yield Intersection Right of Way to Another Vehicle, among several other charges.

Police said Dean was released on her personal recognizance.
