Marijuana, Loaded Gun Found in Preston Man's Car

EASTON, Md.- A Preston man was arrested after police found drugs and a loaded handgun during a traffic stop.

Easton police said it happened Tuesday in the area of Dover Street and East Avenue. Police said they pulled over 27-year-old George Dwight Butler Jr. after a noise complaint was traced to his vehicle.

Police said they found just under 10 grams of marijuana in Butler's possession, as well as a loaded .380 handgun.

According to police, Butler is the respondent of an Active Protective Order, which prohibits him from possessing a handgun.

Police said Butler was arrested and charged with Concealing a Dangerous Weapon and Transporting a Handgun in a Vehicle, among other charges.

Easton police said Butler was issued a civil citation for Possession of Marijuana under 10 Grams. He was ordered to be held at the Talbot County Detention Center on $3,000 bond.
