LEWES, Del.- An annual democratic fundraiser in Sussex County got a surprise of presidential measure on Saturday.

Vice President Joe Biden made an appearance at the Sussex County Democratic Jamboree at the Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes.

The vice president focused on meeting and greeting the crowd and shaking hands.

Biden gave a speech at the event, but made no mention of a run for president

Though this isn't the first time the vice president attended the event, many were surprised to see him this year.

"It's not the first time I've seen him at the jamboree. But it was unexpected this year because he's got a lot of things going on," said Cad Cerrano. "It's like coming to a family cookout. You expect to see all of your relatives, but it's good when you get to see them."

Sen. Chris Coons, Sen. Tom Carper and Gov. Jack Markell also attended the event in Sussex County.
