Talbot County Man Arrested after Shooting in Laurel

LAUREL, Del.- A Talbot County man is behind bars after a shooting in Laurel Saturday night.

Police say 31-year-old Lee Harper of Trappe, Md. fired a shotgun through the door of home on 8th Street with several people inside.

Police say one of the victims was crouched behind the door, but luckily the shot missed.

Harper then returned to his vehicle and sped off, driving on sidewalks until he was apprehended.

Police say Harper was intoxicated at the time.

He’s charged with Attempted Murder 2nd Degree, two counts of Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony, two counts of Reckless Endangering 1st Degree, one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, one count of Criminal Mischief over $5000.00, one count of Driving on the Sidewalk and DUI.

Harper was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court #3 in Georgetown and committed to SCI in default of a $146,525.00 Cash Bond.
