Police Searching for Suspect in Dover Shooting

DOVER, Del. – Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that left one person injured at the Alder Park Apartment complex.

Police said that at around 11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, troopers responded to the Alder Park Apartments for a report of gunfire. Police said upon arrival, troopers couldn’t locate a victim and witnesses provided no further information about the incident.

Police said within five minutes of the initial call, a 25-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper torso was dropped off in front of the Emergency Room at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital.

Police said a further investigation revealed the victim was shot while standing outside the apartment complex in the area of “G” and “H” buildings before a friend took him to the hospital. The victim was later airlifted to Christiana Medical Center where his current status is unknown, according to police.

At this time, police have released no suspect information and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Detective W. Miller at (302) 741-2807.
