Suspect Wanted in Armed Robbery of Melfa Convenience Store

MELFA, Va.– The Accomack County Sheriff’s Office is searching for at least one suspect wanted for the armed robbery of a convenience store.

According to Sheriff Todd Godwin, the robbery occurred just before 9:30 p.m. Thursday at the Shore Stop in Melfa. Responding deputies learned a man dressed in a camouflage jacket and blue jeans had entered the store, fired a gun and ran off with an undisclosed amount of money. The sheriff believes a second suspect was outside of the business during the incident.

According to Godwin, the first suspect is described as black male, between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-9, with a slender build.
