NORFOLK, Va.– The good news keeps rolling in for the UMES Volleyball team as two more players received MEAC Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week honors, announced by the conference on Monday.

Senior setter Petra Jerabkova (Prague, Czech Republic) was named Player of the Week while fellow countrywomen and freshman Zuzana Ondruskova (Bilovec, Czech Republic) was named Rookie of the Week.

Both ladies played pivotal roles in helping the Hawks achieve a 3-0 record and a win at the UMES Courtyard Classic. Jerabkova and Ondruskova both were named to the All-Tournament Team, while Ondruskova took home MVP honors.

The duo joins sophomore Alana Polk (Houston, Texas) and freshman Lucia Babic (Sisak, Croatia), who were both given MEAC honors a week ago.

A school record 7-0 to start the year, the team will play host to three squads for the UMES Fall Fling beginning Friday.
