Fire Ruins Crisfield Home

CRISFIELD, Md.- Authorities have ruled as accidental a weekend fire that caused an estimated $200,000 in damage to a home in Crisfield.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said the blaze broke out shortly after 10 a.m. at the two story home located at 204 Davis Lane. It took 30 firefighters from the Crisfield, Marion and Princess Anne volunteer fire companies an hour to get the fire under control, investigators said.

The fire reportedly caused $175,000 in damage to the structure and another $25,000 in damage to its contents. There were no reported injuries.

Investigators said the fire started in the attic and an electrical malfunction is to blame.

The Red Cross is assisting the home's displaced occupants.
