Del. Halts Patient Referrals to Clinic Amid Investigation

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP)- State officials have stopped referring substance abuse patients to an adolescent clinic in Delaware amid ongoing abuse investigations.
The Delaware Department of Services for Children, Youth and Their Families notified Crossroads of Delaware that it was suspending patient referrals to the treatment center in a letter on Sept. 2.
Last month, Crossroads counselor Rebecca Adams was arrested and charged with multiple counts, including fourth-degree rape. Dover police say Adams engaged in sexual relationship with a 16-year-old patient from June 1 to Aug. 15. She was released from jail on bond.

President of Crossroads Alberta Crowley says that state officials are attempting to smear the organization's reputation by stopping referrals.
Crossroads has clinics in Wilmington and Milford.
