Cambridge Police Search for Armed Robbery Suspect

Posted: Updated:

CAMBRIDGE, Md. - Cambridge Police are searching for a man they say robbed a couple at gunpoint in downtown Cambridge Monday night.

Police say around 8:15 p.m. Monday, a man approached a couple walking down the street in the area of Gay and Spring Streets, pointed a gun at them, and demanded money. Police say the man took their money and their cellphones, then took off on foot. No injuries were reported.

Police searched the area on the ground and by the air, but came up empty-handed. Cambridge Police say they issued a search warrant at a nearby home, thinking the suspect was hiding there, but it was empty.

Police say the man is described as a young man, possibly in his 20's to 30's, about 5'10" and 165 lbs. with short hair. He was last seen wearing a black or dark colored baseball hat, and a dark colored shirt with stripes on the front.

Any information, contact Cambridge Police at 410-228-3333.
