LONG NECK, Del. - Troopers are investigating a single-vehicle crash that left one man dead.

It happend just after 11 p.m. Saturday night, as 42-year-old Jeffrey Bell Jr. was driving eastbound on Long Neck Road approaching Pot-Nets Road.

Police say as the vehicle entered into a moderate left curve, Bell failed to negotiate the turn and traveled off the south side of the roadway. Police say the car began to rotate before striking a fence post with the right rear.  The car then quickly began rotating in the opposite direction before it struck a large tree on the driver's side where it came to a sudden stop.

Police say Bell, who was not properly restrained, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jaime Taylor, 37 of Millsboro, was a passenger in the car. Police say Taylor was properly restrained and was transported by EMS to Beebe Healthcare where she was admitted in critical condition.

The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident and alcohol involvement is unknown.  Long Neck Road at Pot-Nets Road was closed for approximately three hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
