Wicomico County Student Struck by Car While Crossing Highway

SALISBURY, Md.- A Wicomico High School senior riding his bicycle to school was struck by a car while crossing U.S. Route 50 east of Ward Street on Monday morning. 

According to police, the 17-year-old was crossing the roadway when he got caught in the middle. Upon trying to navigate back to safety, the bicycle's back tire was struck by a car. 

A spokesperson for Wicomico County Schools said the boy taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center where he was treated for minor injuries and released. He returned to school Monday morning. 

Salisbury police said no charges will be filed against either the student or the driver.
