Motorcycle Accident Closes Part of Rt. 50 in Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. - Officials with the Parsonsburg Volunteer Fire Company say one person was sent to the hospital following a crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle on Route 50 Friday evening.

It happened around 5:45 p.m. Friday on Route 50 near Walston Switch Road. At least one lane of Route 50 between Walston Switch and Hobbs Roads were closed for at least an hour while emergency crews responded and cleared the scene.

No word on what caused the accident or the extent of the injuries of the person sent to the hospital. Officials at the Parsonsburg Fire Department would not confirm if the injured person was the motorcyclist.
