SUDLERSVILLE, Md.- The Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man they say broke into a tavern early Wednesday morning.

Deputies said at about 5 a.m., September 16, the suspect broke into Darlene's Tavern near Sudlersville through a door.

According to the sheriff's office, surveillance video shows what looks like a white male with a dark beard wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and sweatpants. Deputies said the suspect might have been wearing black tennis shoes at the time.

The sheriff's office said the suspect appeared to be familiar with the layout of the tavern. After realizing the cash register was open and empty, deputies said the suspect ran away without taking anything.

Deputies said a nearby resident reported hearing "loud tires" and saw a small SUV driving out of the parking lot.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office.
