LEWES, Del.- Delaware State Police arrested a man in connection with burglaries at a Lewes area restaurant.

On Friday, troopers responded to the Surf Bagel Restaurant on Coastal Highway for a report of a burglary.

The victim told police the exterior storage refrigerator was broken into and several boxes of frozen food valued at over $600 were stolen.

Police say on Sept. 24,  a suspect with burglar tools was seen walking from a residential area toward the back of the Surf Bagel Restaurant. According to police, the suspect gained access to the exterior storage refrigerator behind Surf Bagel by using the burglar tools to cut off the metal latch. The suspect entered the refrigerator and left with multiple boxes of frozen food and walked back toward the residential area behind the business.  Police say the suspect returned a few minutes later and stole more frozen boxes and bags of food. Police say the suspect returned a third time several hours later.

After the investigation, troopers arrested Jermaine Maker on Saturday afternoon at his residence for two counts of Burglary 3rd-degree, two counts of Theft, one count of Possession of Burglar Tools and one count of Criminal Mischief.

Maker was arraigned at Justice of the Peace court 03 then committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $9,000 secured bond.
