Arson in Cambridge Under Investigation

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating an arson in Cambridge that sent one man to the hospital with burns.

According to the Fire Marshal’s office, the fire happened at 7:11 p.m. at 507 Clinton Street on the first story rear porch. One man suffered non-life threatening burns and was transported to Dorchester General Hospital for treatment and was later released, the Fire Marshal’s Office said.

According to investigators, the fire caused an estimated $35,000 in damage to the structure and $5,000 in damage to the contents. Investigators said there was a smoke alarm present and activated at the time of the fire.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office lists the preliminary cause of the fire as arson. No arrests have been made. Anyone with information about this fire is urged to contact the Salisbury Office at (410) 713-3780.
