REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - Governor Jack Markell has issued a limited state of emergency in Delaware as high tide will create coastal flooding problems.

This means for those that live in coastal areas, they should prepare for flooding, voluntarily evacuate or create an evacuation plan.

Even in this limited state of emergency, business is as usual at the Boardwalk Plaza Hotel in Rehoboth Beach.

However, the waves are massive, lapping up close to the boardwalk.

Stephen Cobb is a manager at the hotel and said once they secure the building, it's quite an experience to be on the coast during a nor'easter like this.

"Our first concern's is the safety of our employees and our guests," he explained. "But it's nice because you get to see Mother Nature's fury at work and a lot of guests come into the hotel to see what might be a once in a life time event for them."

The water rushed all the way up to the dunes, which were put in place for situations like this to prevent beach erosion as well as water from coming up onto the boardwalk and damaging properties.

"There will always be beach erosion with this type of storm," Cobb said. "The dunes have helped tremendously, this is the time of year that we do lose the beach, but then naturally the beach comes back in the Spring so there will be some erosion, but thank God for the dunes."
