MILFORD, Del. – Tips from the public helped contribute to the arrest of a Frederica man wanted in connection with a robbery at an area gas station Friday.

According to Delaware State Police, a male suspect entered the Shore Stop at 1885 Bay Road at approximately 7:10 p.m. Friday, and confronted a female employee behind the counter. Police said the man asked for a pack of cigarettes, and when the clerk opened the cash drawer to make change, implied he had a weapon and demanded cash. The female clerk complied and handed over an undisclosed amount of money. The man then went out the rear doors of the building toward Cicada Lane, police said. The clerk was not injured in the incident.

Through interviews and tips from the public, detectives were able to identify Justin R. McGaha, 31, of Frederica, as the suspect in this robbery, as well as another that was committed in Harrington.

On Tuesday, troopers and officers from Harrington Police Department conducted a search warrant at McGaha’s residence on Hillside Avenue and located numerous items, including clothing, that was used during the robberies, police said.

McGaha was taken into custody without incident and transported back to Troop 3 where he was charged with Robbery 1st. He was arraigned at JP7 and committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional center in lieu of $30,000 cash bond.
