WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - A Wilmington man serving time for dealing heroin and conspiracy to commit criminal racketeering has been indicted on additional charges of first degree murder in a 2008 cold case.
The Delaware Attorney General's Office announced Monday that 23-year-old Rydell Mills has been charged with first-degree murder and several other charges.
Attorney General Matt Denn says that on Feb. 3, 2008, Mills shot 26-year-old Jerome "Boomer" Green to death in Wilmington while he was walking home from the corner store with his then-9-year-old daughter.
The indictment comes as a result of regular cold case reviews initiated by the Department of Justice and the Wilmington Police Department.
Mills is currently serving a two-year prison sentence for dealing heroin, violation of probation and conspiracy to commit criminal racketeering.
