Authorities Arrest 8 People in Milford Drug Bust

MILFORD, Del.- Police arrested eight people Thursday after a three-month long investigation in Milford.

On Oct. 15, Milford Police, with the assistance of multiple agencies,  executed search warrants at homes in the 600 block of North DuPont Highway, 500 block of Truitt Ave, 400 block of North St, and 1000 block of Southeast 2nd Street. 

During the search, officers seized heroin, marijuana, hand gun ammunition, drug paraphernalia, and money.

The following people were taken into custody as a result of this investigation:

- Lamar M. Rufus, 28 of Milford.  Rufus was charged with Possession with the Intent To Deliver Heroin, Drug Dealing, Possession of Marijuana, Conspiracy 3rd degree, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was arraigned at JP Court #2, where bail was set at $21,300.  Rufus was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution.

-Alece A. Smith, 25 of Milford.  Smith was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Conspiracy 3rd and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Smith was arraigned at JP Court #2 and released on $1,300 unsecured bond.

-Samir M. Baker, 22 of Milford.  Baker was wanted by Kent County Family Court and Court of Common Pleas, as well as Sussex County Court of Common Pleas.  Baker was also charged with Possession with the Intent To Deliver Heroin, Drug Dealing, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Baker was arraigned at JP Court #2, where bail was set at $10,200.

-Eric L. Bennett, 33 of Milford.  Bennett was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and released after being issued a criminal summons.

-Samantha L. Honaker, 39 of Milford.  Honaker was wanted for Failure to Report to a Correctional Facility, in which she was committed to SCI following an arraignment at JP Court #2.  She was also charged with Criminal Impersonation and two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Honaker was issued a criminal summons for those charges.

-Julie Connelly, 25 of Milford.  Connelly was charged with Hindering Prosecution.  She was arraigned at JP Court #2 and released on $750 unsecured bond.

-Lakesha Bruister, 25 of Milford.  Bruister was wanted by Kent County Court of Common Pleas.  She was arraigned at JP Court #2 and committed to SCI on $800 secured bond.

-Bucky T. Sehn, 34 of Milford.  Sehn was wanted by Kent County Court of Common Pleas.  Sehn was arraigned at JP Court #2, where bail was released on $250 secured bond.

    Last Friday Dog Control in Westover received an anonymous complaint about Jolindy's Kennel stating that the property is dirty and there were concerns for the dogs living there. 

    Linda Brown is the owner of the kennel and she was surprised when the Somerset County Sheriff Department showed up yesterday with animal control officers to remove all 40 of her German Shepherds.

    Last Friday Somerset County Animal Control officials in Westover received an anonymous complaint about Jolindy's Kennel stating that the property is dirty and there were concerns for the dogs living there. On Wednesday, animal control officers showed up at the kennel to remove all 40 of Jolindy's German shepherds.
