Shoppes of Long Neck Fire Under Investigation

MILLSBORO, Del.- Several stations responded to a reported fire in the Shoppes of Long Neck Wednesday.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company said it happened at 6:30 p.m.

Fire officials said Indian River, along with the Lewes and Millsboro fire companies, received a call about a working alarm with flames visible inside the second floor of the building.

According to fire officials, Delaware State Fire Police, the Sussex County Paramedics and the Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office also responded.

Fire officials said the flames were caused by an unattended candle burning.

Firefighters said the Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office began investigating once the fire was put out.

No injuries were reported.

Fire officials said Delaware State Fire Police rerouted traffic during the fire and investigation.

    Authorities investigate after at least 25 dead horses were found on a rural property in Wicomico County, Maryland Friday morning. Lt. Tim Robinson of the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office said around 11 a.m., the Sheriff's Office, in conjunction with Wicomico County Animal Control, began an investigation into the report of the presence of deceased horses on the property outside of Hebron.
