Inmate's Mother Arrested after Attempt to Deliver Contraband to Son

WESTOVER, Md,- Police arrested a Mardela woman after officers say she attempted to deliver contraband to an inmate at Eastern Correctional Institute.

Maryland State Police responded Sunday afternoon, and learned that 59-year-old Kathleen Lowe attempted to bring Suboxone and cigarettes to her son, John Lowe.

Police say the seized 114 individual sheets of Suboxone and 35 Maverick Cigarettes with the filter’s removed. 

Police arrested Kathleen Lowe for Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS), Possession of CDS with intent to distribute, Delivery of Contraband to a Correctional Facility and Attempt to Deliver Contraband to a Correctional Facility. 

Lowe has taken before a District Court Commissioner for her initial appearance.  Police are still investigating.
