SALISBURY, Md.- According to the latest CBS polls in the GOP Presidential race, Maryland native, Dr. Ben Carson, now has a solid lead over Donald Trump. Going into Wednesday night's GOP presidential debate, local Marylanders gave their reactions about Carson being the front-runner.

Ryan DeVage, a local business owner, said, "It will be interesting to see how these two go back and forth tonight. Obviously, they're going to have to take off the gloves and go after each other; it should be interesting."

Ryan's father, Craig DeVage also a local business owner said, he feels the shift in the latest poll standings sends a clear messge. He said, " I think it's exciting for our country, that someone who is not part of the political establishment is resonating potential voters."

Soft-spoken and low key in the first two GOP debates, the question remains; How will he stand up to Trump? Local resident Colin Hurley said, "Tonight's debate could be interesting." He said he feels it will be a challenge for Carson to step up and be more assertive.
