DSP Search for Attempted Robbery Suspects

Posted: Updated:

FELTON, Del. - Delaware State Police are searching for two men they say pointed a gun at another man who was walking to his car, and attempted to rob him.

State Police say around 9:20 p.m. Wednesday, a 28-year-old man was leaving a home in the Canterbury Crossing Development on Crestwood Drive in Felton, when two men approached him and began assaulting him. Troopers say, at one point, the men showed what appeared to be a handgun and demanded money.

Police say the man was able to break free and ran back into the home, but the other two men followed, and a fight broke out.

A 60-year-old man intervened, according to police, and one of the suspects dropped what later turned out to be a BB gun. Within seconds, police say the two suspects ran out of the house empty-handed. Witnesses say they were last seen headed toward Route 13.

The 28-year-old victim received minor injuries, but did not require any medical attention, according to police.  The 60-year-old victim was uninjured.

The suspects were described as black males, 5'08"-6'01" tall, wearing masks over their faces, police say.

If anyone has any information in reference to this incident they are asked to contact the Detective P. Surowiec at 302-741-2814.  Information may also be provided by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333, via the internet at www.delaware.crimestoppersweb.com, or by sending an anonymous tip by text to 274637 (CRIMES) using the keyword "DSP."
