Updated: Operations Resume at Chicken Processing Plant in Harbeson

Posted: Updated:

HARBESON, Del.- A chicken processing plant  temporarily shut down Thursday in Sussex County has resumed operations.

A spokesperson for Allen Harim said production was stopped at the company's Harbeson facility Thursday morning when a cleaning agent was inappropriately used on some machinery.

The chickens processed Thursday morning were temporarily held but have now been released by the USDA for distribution.

The plant employs about 300 shift workers.
