6 Students Injured in High School Chemistry Classroom Fire

FAIRFAX, Va. (AP)- Fire officials say a teacher and five students were hurt, two of them seriously, when a chemical fire broke out in a laboratory classroom at a northern Virginia high school.
    
Fairfax County Fire Chief Richard Bowers says firefighters called to W.T. Woodson High School in Fairfax on Friday morning found a fire in the classroom. Bowers says two students were flown to a hospital burn center, where they are in serious condition, and three other students were taken to a hospital. He says a teacher was treated on the scene, and none of the injuries is life-threatening. The school was evacuated.
    
Bowers says the fire broke out during a classroom activity. Police Chief Col. Edwin Roessler there's no evidence of criminal activity.
