Crisfield House Fire Ruled Arson

CRISFIELD, Md.- Investigators say an early Sunday fire that heavily damaged a vacant home in Crisfield was intentionally set.

The Maryland Fire Marshal's Office said the blaze happened shortly after 3 a.m. at a two story home located at 4292 Lawson Barnes Road.

It took 30 firefighters from the Crisfield and Marion volunteer fire companies approximately an hour and a half to get the fire under control.

There were no reported injuries. The fire caused an estimated $70,000 in damage to the structure and another $10,000 in damage to its contents.

Investigators determined the fire started in a first floor kitchen. Anyone with additional information about this incident or knows who may be responsible for setting the fire is asked to call the Salisbury office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal at (410) 713-3780.
