Pair Arrested in Cambridge Marijuana Bust

CAMBRIDGE, Md.- Authorities say an investigation into the smuggling of large quantities into Maryland has led to the arrests of two people in Cambridge on drug charges. 

The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office said that on Friday, multiple law enforcement agencies executed two search and seizure warrants in Cambridge. According to investiators, the warrants were the result of a joint investigation into the illegal smuggling of large quantities of marijuana from California to Maryland using standard Parcel service deliveries.

The raids resulted in the seizure of 3.58 pounds of marijuana, $896 in cash and various types of paraphernalia, according to the sheriff's office. 

One of the suspects arrested, 31-year-old Larron Dru Fletcher of 710 Leonard’s Lane in Cambridge, was charged with failure to obey a lawful order,
possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. He was ordered Held on $45,000 bond.

The other suspect, 20-year-old Niveyshka Marie Torres of 614 Greenwood Ave., Apartment 301, in Cambridge, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. She was ordered held on $10,000 bond.
