SALISBURY, Md. - Salisbury University had a surprising visitor Monday afternoon.

According to Lt. Brian Waller of Salisbury University Police, a deer ran through a window at the Guerrieri University Center on campus around 4:30 p.m. Monday.

"All of a sudden I hear this loud thud and a crash. It sounded like a chandelier falling or something like that, and then this deer, a two-point buck just starts bolting across and its running into the door... and it wouldn't budge," said Senior Alex Mason.

The University had the area taped off while crews came to clean up the mess. Part of the building was closed for safety, but it reopened later Monday night. No injuries were reported.

Lt. Waller said that because of the deer's significant injuries, a University Police officer euthanized it near Henson Hall.
