SEAFORD, Del.- An anti-drug coalition group met in Seaford on Tuesday to discuss battling the heroin epidemic in southern Delaware. The network of local help organizations and concerned citizens, called the Sussex County Action Prevention Coalition, is working together to educate, provide treatment options and develop long term strategies to reduce illegal drug use in Sussex County.

One local organization in the network, the A.C.E Resource Center in Seaford, is credited with helping Patrick Hodges beat his addiction.

"I was on crack, I was smoking weed and doing heroin," Hodges said. "They helped me get back on my feet. They helped me learn about my past, get back on my feet and helped me find myself to move forward."

Pastor Dan Southern, a member of the coalition, said getting the right momentum moving forward is critical for the group's mission. The coalition meets monthly at the Lighted Pathway Family Life Center in Seaford.
