Man Pleads Guilty to Fatal Ambulance Carjacking

Posted:

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) - The man who prosecutors say stole an ambulance and caused a deadly crash in Prince George's County has pleaded guilty to numerous charges

Thirty-four-year-old Silver Spring man Sebastian Isaksen pleaded guilty Wednesday to charges including carjacking, vehicular manslaughter and causing a life-threatening injury while intoxicated.

In December 2014, Isaksen crashed the car he was driving in College Park. Emergency workers saw the incident and stopped to help. Police say Isaksen then attacked the two emergency workers and drove off in the ambulance. Later, police say he crashed the ambulance into a car and killed its driver, 77-year-old Alvin Hargrave.

Prosecutors said Isaksen's blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit for drivers in Maryland.

Sentencing is scheduled for January. Prosecutors say they will request a prison sentence of 25 years.
