PARSONSBURG, Md.- According to the Parsonsburg Volunteer Fire Company, it's chief, Steven E. White, has passed away.

The department says White passed away Thursday afternoon at his home with his family and friends at his side.

They posted on the company's Facebook page that White was diagnosed with cancer this year and "fought a good fight."

Steve's family will release details on his celebration of life in the coming days, according to the department.

The department says any other departments wishing to provide assistance should contact Deputy Fire Chief Eric Tyler at 443-880-7642.
