REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.– A Lewes woman is facing vehicular assault, DUI and related charges following a Sunday crash near Rehoboth Beach, according to Delaware State Police.

Cpl. Gary Fournier said at 10:15 p.m. Sunday, Yvonne K. Willey, 43, of Lewes, was driving a 2010 Infiniti EX35 northbound on Warrington Road and approaching a right curve just south of John J. Williams Highway. The Infiniti crossed into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer, Fournier said.

According to Fournier, the driver of the Mitsubishi, Michael P. Burrows, 24, of Rehoboth, and a 22-year-old female passenger from Lewes, were wearing seatbelts and were taken by EMS to Beebe Healthcare where they were admitted with undetermined injuries.

Fournier said Willey was not hurt in the crash and was taken to Troop 7 where police carried out a DUI investigation. She was charged with two counts of first-degree vehicular assault, driving under the influence of alcohol and driving on the wrong side of the road. She was ordered held in the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $6,550 cash bond.
