Harrington Police Search for Suspects in Home Invasion

Posted:

HARRINGTON, Del.- Police are investigating a home invasion that happened on West Center Street in Harrington.

Police say officers were told a suspect knocked at the door of the home and spoke to the victim about having a car repaired. Police say a second suspect then appeared with a hand gun and forced their way into the home, demanding money from the victim.

According to police, the victim was held at gun point by one suspect while the other bound his hands. The victim escaped from the home while it was being ransacked by the suspects. Police say he suffered minor injuries and was transported to Milford Memorial Hospital by EMS.

The first suspect is described as a light skin black male, 6'0"-6'3", 180-200lbs, with a beard, dressed in all black, and wearing green sneakers.

The second suspect is described as a dark skin black male, 5'8"-5'10", stocky build, with a full beard, black rim eye glasses, and dressed in all black.

Due to the nature of the incident and the close proximity to W.T. Chipman Middle school and Lake Forest South Elementary, both schools were placed on a temporary lock down on Friday until investigators deemed the area secure.

Anyone with any information should contact DET/SGT Adam Gillespie at 302-398-4493 extension 14. Tips may also be submitted to Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-847-3333.
