BLADES, Del. (AP/WBOC)- Delaware State Police say they're searching for a teen who drove a minivan toward a juvenile probation officer, who shot the van's tire.

Police said the encounter began after Juvenile Probation and Parole officers completed a curfew check at 15-year-old Terry R. McIntyre Jr.'s home on the 23000 block of Old Meadow Road on Tuesday night. A short time later, police said the officers saw the teen driving and called Seaford police, but the teen soon pulled the minivan into a driveway in Blades.

As officers approached, police said McIntyre drove toward one officer, who fired one shot, striking the van's tire.

The van was found nearby with a flat tire, but the teen and two others ran off. Police said they are preparing to charge McIntyre with two counts of felony level first-degree reckless endangering.

The probation officers were uninjured in the incident.

Anyone with information on McIntyre's whereabouts is asked to contact Detective J. King at (302) 741-2821.  Information may also be provided by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333, via the internet at www.delaware.crimestoppersweb.com, or by sending an anonymous tip by text to 274637 (CRIMES) using the keyword "DSP."
