HAMBURG, Pa.- Pennsylvania State Police say they have found the body of missing Washington College student Jacob Marberger.

Marberger, who had been missing for a week, was found at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary along with the Land Rover his parents said he had left home with. Police say the cause of death is suicide, a self inflicted gunshot wound.  He was found on Saturday afternoon.

Marberger's parents called Washington College to warn them that their son had left home, possibly with a gun, which led to a lockdown on campus that has lasted for a week.  Washington College has not said if they will remain closed through Thanksgiving, or if they will reopen next week.  Police and the college stated numerous times during the week that Marberger had made no direct threats to the college or to anyone else.

Washington College addressed Marberger's death on their Facebook page, calling his death "a terrible blow to our community."

The statement further read, "The outpouring of compassion and support we have shown each other will help us through this difficult time. We need to continue to be supportive of each other as we mourn individually and as a community."

According to Washington College's Facebook page, the school will have counseling services on-hand when students return to campus.
