Milford Man Charged After Violating Domestic Violence Protection Order

MILFORD, Del. – A Milford man has been charged after police say he violated a domestic violence protection order.

Officers from the Milford Police Department arrested 42-year-old Michael Carlisle on Sunday for a domestic incident they say happened on Oct. 18.

Milford Police say a 26-year-old woman was walking on Fisher Avenue that day in the area of Southeast Second Street when Carlisle hit her from behind and knocked her to the ground. According to officers, Carlisle then stood over her and began to punch her repeatedly. He ran away before police arrived.

Police say Carlisle had already been court ordered not to have any contact with the victim due to prior domestic incidents. He was arraigned and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $3,200 cash bond.
