UPDATED: One Dead, Five Injured in New Castle County Crash

BEAR, Del. (AP/WBOC) - Authorities say one woman died and five people were injured in a crash that caused two vehicles to roll down an embankment.
State police say the crash occurred around 10:15 a.m. Sunday on southbound Delaware Route 1 near Red Lion Road in Bear. Police say a 20 year old man from Brooklyn was driving a Ford Explorer on Route 1, when it passed a GMC Yukon, driven by a 31 year old woman from Smyrna.  Both cars were traveling southbound on Route 1.  Police say when the Explorer passed the Yukon, the driver of the Explorer lost control and hit the Yukon.  Police say both cars hit the guardrail and went down the embankment following the collision.

Police say the driver of the Explorer was wearing a seat belt, but the three passengers were not properly restrained.
New Castle County paramedics say a 20-year-old female passenger in the Explorer died at the scene. Two 20-year-old men in the same car, including the driver, had serious injuries but were in stable condition at Christiana Medical Center.

Three others had minor injuries, including a woman and a 9-month-old baby girl in the Yukon.

UPDATE: Police have now identified 20 year old Thalya Crawford of Brooklyn as the woman who died in the Explorer.  The two other passengers in that car were 20 year old Armani Wynter of Dover, and 20 year old Gerell Wilson of Newark, De.  Kai Clark, 20, of Brooklyn was the driver of the Explorer, and 31 year old Brent Yarnall of Smyrna was driving the Yukon.

Police are still investigating.
